Am I permitted to park my recreational/utility trailer in my driveway?

Trailers of all kinds are allowed to be parked in the driveway for a maximum of 24 hours for the purpose of loading and unloading or for routine maintenance. Anything over the original 24 hours would be considered storage, and the trailer must then be relocated to a side or rear yard area and must be parked on a hard surfaced pad.

At what point are bushes/trees considered an obstruction to a city sidewalk or street?

The owner of a tree, shrub or plant growing on private property overhanging any street or public sidewalk within the city should trim the branches or plant so that they do not obstruct the view of any street intersection or encroach upon any sidewalk.  Trees should be maintained so as to provide a minimum clear space of not less than ten (10') feet on a secondary street or fifteen (15') feet on a major street.  The measurement is taken from the street surface or the sidewalk.

What are the requirements for the installation of a fence?

A permit is required for all fences and walls within the city.  The first step would be the filing of a building permit application along with three (3) copies of your Plat of Survey indicting where the fence will be placed and the location of any public utility equipment (switch, transformer etc.) that may be located along the property lines.  The property owner (s) will then be required to fill out and sign an Affidavit wherein they agree to correct any/all drainage issues that arise out of the construction of the fence.  There are certain height restrictions depending on the yard in which the fence/wall will be constructed.  In addition, the "finished" side of the fence is required to face the adjoining properties.  There is a flat fee of $30.00 for any fence permit.
