These
two neighboring commercial buildings both undertook projects
to repair and rehabilitate their original second floor windows. The Unity Building rehabbed 57 historic wood windows
and 1 set of French doors. The Nelson Building rehabbed 4 large arched
windows and 1 set of French doors. Historic windows convey building character and are
made of irreplaceable materials. The window restoration made a significant
impact on these architecturally significant commercial buildings
and was an example that the rehabilitation of windows is realistic
and affordable.
