Martin House, 525 Fulton Street
(constructed 1851) The house was built by David Martin,
a furniture dealer and moved from Third and Ford Streets in
the 1920s. The repair of clapboard siding and historic windows,
repainting, along with the restoration of the two-story front
porch made a significant impact on this architecturally significant
Greek Revival home.

The Martin House at the early stages of rehabilitation.
The paint is peeling badly, the windows need repair and the
second floor
of the two-story original front porch (upper right) has been
enclosed.

A dramatic improvement! The original front porch was reopened,
the house was repainted, windows were repaired, and the side
porch (deck) was added.

A beautiful Greek Revival home that will be around at least
another 150 years!

Receiving their awards on May 15, 2000 are Kevin Penzato,
Penzato Remodeling & Restoration,
Jennifer Sullivan, homeowner, and Robin Johnson, architect.

A work in progress. A lot of detailed repair work was required
for the wood siding and shingles.

Were nearly there! The Brunos set the example for the
careful preservation of historic siding materials.
