Historic District Boundary Map
Geneva had two historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and 1982. These two districts were combined into one local historic district through the Geneva Historic Preservation Ordinance in 1987, which was amended in 1994. In 1997, Geneva became a Certified Local Government, as established by the U.S. Department of the Interior, which furthers the level of commitment to preserving the historic areas of our community. The Historic District Boundary Map depicts the limits of the City of Geneva’s historic district. In addition, the map depicts the locations and addresses of individually designated landmarks located outside of the historic district boundaries.
Comprehensive Land-Use Plan
The Land-Use Plan designates a specific land-use for every parcel of land in the Geneva planning area and anticipates the utilization of all areas over the next ten to fifteen years. It is important to remember that the Land-Use Plan designation is a guide for future land-use and development decision making. Should future conditions and community needs and aspirations change, the designation on the Land-Use Plan should be amended accordingly. The full Comprehensive Plan is available for viewing on the CODES & DOCUMENTS page.
