Community Development: City of Geneva, Illinois

The Community Development Department includes the Building and Zoning Division and the Planning Division. The Department coordinates long-range planning, administers the appropriate City ordinances relative to development and Historic Preservation, within the context of the City's Comprehensive Master Plan, issues building permits and enforces related City codes.

Mr. Untch holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography from Augustana College and a Master of Urban Planning and Policy Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle. He is a Charter Member of the American Planning Association and a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. He also holds the certification of Economic Development Finance Professional.

Prior to his appointment in 1998 as Director of Community Development, he worked for the City of Aurora, Village of Woodridge, Village of Lincolnshire, and the Southeast Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission in the areas of planning, zoning, community development and economic development.
