Project Description
The City of Geneva Public Works Department has developed a long range, multi-year street program. The program outlines proposed streets to be improved through our annual street improvement project. The purpose of the multi-year street list is to provide information to the public regarding long range timing of street improvements. In addition, the multi-year list is used as a planning tool by Public Works staff to coordinate various maintenance operations throughout the City.
The multi-year program lists streets being considered at this time for future improvements. Having a street listed in the program does not guarantee it will be improved in the year shown. The list is only meant as a planning tool. Final decisions on streets for a given year are made annually during the City’s budget process. Changes to the multi-year list can be made at any time for various reasons such as funding levels and pavement condition. Each year, Public Works staff evaluates the condition of the street network and makes recommendations for street improvements. Streets not listed on the multi-year list can be added to or replace another street if its condition warrants sooner action and funding levels are adequate.
