Project Description
On Feb. 21, 2012, the city council awarded the Wheeler Park Water Main Extension project to Glenbrook Excavating and
Concrete. This project will involve the installation of approximately a quarter mile of 10‐inch water main connecting the
existing water main at Eklund and Evernia Court to the existing water main lying on the west side of Route 31 near the north
end of Wheeler Park. The proposed route is shown on the other side of this notification. It is anticipated that this project will
take approximately 4 weeks to complete, but could be more or less depending on the weather or other unknown conditions.
Project Schedule
The city anticipates that the contractor will begin work in two to three weeks from March 14, 2012. The City will follow up with another notification
of the actual start date as soon as the contractor gives the city this information. The City has an ordinance that requires all work to take
place between 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. There is also a possibility he can work on Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm if
approved to do so by the city.
Construction Updates
The contractor began work on March 15, 2012, and finished installation of the water main on March 28, 2012. The new water main pipe was placed into service in April. The contractor performed restoration in May. However, due to the lack of rainfall, additional restoration will be done in the Fall.
