Mr. Dinges holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

He received certification from the Illinois Public Service Institute for their Leadership Program in 2005 and was recognized as the Young Leader of the Year with the Chicago Metro Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) in 2007.

Prior to his appointment as Director of Public Works in May 2006, Mr. Dinges served as the City Engineer/Asst. Director of Public Works Beginning in May 2000. Mr. Dinges started with the City in October 1999 as a Civil Engineer. Mr. Dinges began his career as a consultant with Robert E. Hamilton Consulting Engineers, P.C. in 1994.

Parkway Tree Trimming: Residents that would like the parkway tree to be trimmed or if the tree is in poor condition and would like it considered for removal and replacement need to contact the Public Works Department at 232-1502 or may use the service request program that is located on the City’s website. Once contact has been made with Public Works, staff will evaluate the condition of the tree and then the schedule maintenance activity as time and resources are available.
