| The Administrative Services Department
includes the divisions of Administration,
Human Resources, Information
Technology & and the Finance Division. The Department is responsible for conducting
special projects; administering employee compensation,
benefits and personnel policies; managing the City's computer
network, including the geographic information system,
monitoring cable television-related issues, utility billing, as well as accounts payable and receivable. |
| The Community Development Department
includes the Building
and Zoning Division and the Planning
Division. The Department coordinates long-range planning,
administers the appropriate City codes & ordinances relative to
development and Historic
Preservation, within the context of the City's Comprehensive
Master Plan, issues building permits and enforces related
City codes. |
| The Economic Development Department assists
with potential business site selection and promotion, commercial
vacancies, new business services, demographics, community profiles,
and property statistics. |
| The Fire Department is responsible for fire
protection and prevention, emergency medical services, fire
code enforcement, fire alarm and sprinkler plan reviews and
inspections, hazardous materials and water rescues, and public
education. |
| The Police Department is responsible for
law enforcement, public safety, crime prevention, public education,
vehicular and pedestrian traffic issues, school liaisons, the
Senior Care Program, Child ID Program, and the BASSET Certification
Training Program. |
| The Public Works Department includes an
Administration Division, the Engineering Division, the Streets
Division, the Water and
Wastewater Division, and the Electric
Division. The Department is responsible for maintaining
the City's water and wastewater treatment systems, the electric
distribution system, streets and sidewalks, City vehicles, and
engineering. |
| Tri-Com is the multi-jurisdictional emergency
dispatch center for the cities of Geneva, Batavia, and St. Charles.
Together the cities combine their resources to dispatch public
safety departments in the three communities to emergency calls. |
