The GIS Division is a fundamental support function of the City of Geneva. The City's Engineering Division manages the GIS in cooperation with other city departments. Centralized over sight of the system provides citywide access to data layers such as parcel, zoning, taxing districts, utility infrastructure and digital ortho photography.
The GIS supports the daily tasks of every department in the City, along with allowing residents access to electronic maps via the City’s website and paper maps available at City Hall. Our goal is to support improved services through open access to a variety of data for asset management, analysis and presentation.
We use ESRI's ArcGIS software suite along with running an intranet application which serves the data out to all City staff.
