Wastewater Treatment Facility Supervisor

The City of Geneva Public Works Department is accepting applications for a full-time Wastewater Treatment Facility Supervisor in the Water and Wastewater Division. The position supervises wastewater treatment facility staff and facility to ensure proper operations of the facility are in accordance with all Federal, State, and local regulations.

Successful applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, a minimum of seven years experience in a municipal wastewater treatment facility, Illinois Environmental Protection Agency Class 1 Wastewater Certification, and an IL Commercial Drivers License Class A. Applicants are required to have knowledge of Federal and State EPA Regulations as well as NPDES Permits and the Federal Pretreatment Program.

 

The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience maintaining operations in accordance with an approved budget, posses excellent computer skills including SCADA, and ability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 100 lbs. The position is non-exempt requiring the Supervisor to respond to after hour emergency calls and perform on-call responsibilities. The City of Geneva is looking for an individual willing to assist other departments in Public Works as necessary and enjoys working in a team environment.

 

The City of Geneva offers an excellent fringe benefit package and starting salary, with the salary range for this position being $31.53 - $44.52 / hour with a starting range of up to $37.10 / hour depending on qualifications. The City of Geneva is an equal opportunity employer.

CHANGE IN REQUIREMENTS - FIREFIGHTER APPLICANTS – CITY OF GENEVA, ILLINOIS

The Fire and Police Commission recently changed the Rules and Regulations for the Physical Ability Testing of all applicants. The changed regulation states:

All applicants for Firefighter shall submit proof of having successfully completed the “Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) within the 6 month period prior to the date applications are submitted to the Board.

CPAT testing sites are the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy (www.nipsta.org) located in Glenview, IL and the Southwest United Fire Districts (www.sufd.org) located in Darien, IL. Please direct all questions about CPAT and test dates to these organizations. Cost for the CPAT is the responsibility of the applicant.
