  2. Christmas Walk

    December 4, 6:00 PM @ Downtown Geneva

Friday evening begins with Graham’s Chocolates First Candy Cane of the season being presented with great fanfare followed by the arrival of Santa Lucia, the Swedish symbol of the season, who will offer Swedish cookies to merry-makers. Young and young at heart will wait with anticipation as Santa Claus arrives on a horse-drawn carriage and the Great Tree on the Courthouse lawn is lit. Santa and Mrs. Claus will then open their gingerbread home for visits from excited children. Amongst the twinkling lights and fresh greenery lined streets, chestnuts are roasting over open fires, carolers are filling the night air with seasonal favorites and a live nativity scene is taking place. Dazzling window displays brimming with gift ideas invite shoppers to stroll through shops as merchants serve traditional holiday refreshments. The event is sponsored by the Geneva Chamber of Commerce.

  3. Steeple Walk

    December 6, 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM

The Steeple Walk returns to usher in the holidays, greeting patrons with a variety of seasonal music concerts at four Geneva churches. The holiday tradition will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 6. Two audience groups will attend 20-minute concerts played simultaneously at the United Methodist Church of Geneva, 211 Hamilton St.; and Geneva Lutheran Church, 301 S. Third St. Following the performances, the groups will switch venues to enjoy the other concert. Patrons will then walk to the final performances – and similar rotation format – at both the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, 102 S. Second St.; and First Church of Christ, Scientist, 111 S. Second St. A Steeple Walk guide escorts the groups to the next church, all within easy walking distance, and shares information about the architecture of each site.
