Shakespeare in the Park
Shakespeare in the Park logoEnjoy an evening of theater in Island Park!
Grab your portable chairs and picnic baskets and join us in beautiful Island Park for the annual Shakespeare in the Park play. The Midsummer Theater Troupe brings the laughs and plays are shortened to 90 minutes, making this an outing that's fun (and appropriate) for the whole family. With the Fox River and lush trees as a backdrop, Shakespeare in the Park provides the perfect al fresco theater experience. Come early, stake out a spot in front of the stage and have a picnic in the park. If you don't want to pack up a picnic basket, Stockholm's and Graham's will be on-site, selling sandwiches, ice cream and root beer.

About the Midsummer Theatre Troupe

The Midsummer Theatre Troupe is now in its 15th season as a mobile theater company that brings Shakespeare to as many people as possible. Toni Hix, artistic director for the theater troupe, incorporates popular music, slapstick humor and expressive physical movements to make the comedy of Shakespeare appeal to all ages. The troupe performs in several venues in Kane and DuPage counties each summer. Performers fill their cars with tents, set pieces, costume and a stellar sound system.
