Mental Health Board

The Mental Health Board is compromised of Geneva residents. These residents represent groups in the local mental health department, medical societies, health planning agencies, hospital boards, lay associations concerned with mental health, developmental disabilities and substance abuse organizations, as well as the general public.

With the consent of the City Council, eight members are appointed by the Mayor, and each serve a four-year term. Restrictions of this board state that no more than one representative of the City Council may be a member and no member shall be an employee, board member, or individual receiving compensation from the Illinois Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities or the Illinois Department of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.

The board meets regularly on the second Tuesday of each month.  For more information, contact chairman John Ford at 630-232-0450.

Grant Funding Available
The Geneva Mental Health Board is now in the process of accepting grant requests for the 2015 fiscal year. Non-profits that provide services to City of Geneva residents with developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance abuse could be eligible to receive funding under this statute.
