Homes for a Changing Region
What is the vision for housing in Geneva?

homesforchangingregion.jpgGeneva is partnering with Batavia, North Aurora, and St. Charles to formulate a Homes for a Changing Region Plan. The purpose of the planning process is to identify national, regional, and local housing trends that shape housing supply and demand, define housing needs, and identify strategies to meet those needs.

The goal is to create a balanced mix of housing that serves the current and future residents across the entire age and income spectrum. The final plan will include recommended housing policies and strategies for each municipality, as well as recommendations how the four municipalities can work together to address housing needs.

Assistance in creating the plan is being provided by the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, Metropolitan Planning Council, Metropolitan Mayor’s Caucus, and Kane County Development Department.

On Nov. 7, 2013, the City of Geneva held a community workshop where citizens provided their ideas and preferences on the future of housing.
