Meetings and Training

Monthly Merchant Meetings
The City Economic Development Department hosts Merchant Meetings which are typically held at 8 a.m. on the third Wednesday of the month at City Hall. Meetings are held in Council Chambers, 109 James St. There is no meeting in June due to Swedish Days and the November and December meetings are combined into a Holiday Kick-off Breakfast held in early November. All are welcome to attend. Format includes introduction of new businesses, training, networking, and information on upcoming marketing opportunities and events. Upcoming and previous agendas for the Downtown Merchants Meeting can be viewed in the city's Agenda Center.

Frontline Training
Frontline Training is a complimentary two-hour educational program hosted by the Economic Development Department for all business owners and employees. Attendees learn Geneva history so they can better tell “the Geneva story.” They will brush up on customer service skills which will build repeat business; they will learn what local resources exist; and how to engage customers to shop at another store, dine in Geneva, or come back for a special event. The class is held in February. Contact your block captain to learn more, or call the Economic Development Department at 630-938-4555.

Frontline Training will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 and Wednesday, February 4 2015.
