Risk Watch is a comprehensive injury prevention curriculum for children entering first grade. For children ages 14 and under, the #1 health risk isn't kidnapping, drugs, or disease. It's injuries. One in four children are injured seriously enough to require medical attention. With proper education, children can learn to be much safer and prevent injuries. Risk Watch makes learning fun! Risk Watch activities combine teaching and imagination to help children learn to promote their own personal safety and well-being as well as that of their friends, family and community. Risk watch encourages participation by community experts such as firefighters and police officers to reinforce lessons with a "real world" perspective. The City of Geneva Risk Watch program for 2011 will be taught in three sessions to Geneva children entering first grade. Kids will apply critical thinking skills to analyze situations and learn how to spot and avoid potential dangers. We will provide thought provoking and fun activities designed to promote safe decision making. Come Join Us! |
