AT&T announced plans to replace outdated cable television, Internet and phone service equipment located in utility easements throughout Geneva, starting on the City's west side.
Work will include boring through the easements, which are typically a strip of land running along the street, sidewalk, rear lot line or between two lots. New conduit will then be installed underground.
Project Work Zone
Work in the first construction zone is scheduled to take place from Dec. 10, 2018 to mid-February, 2019, weather permitting, primarily along Peck Road from Keslinger to Bricher roads. The impacted subdivisions include Prairie Ridge, Westhaven and Prairie View. A larger version of the map can be viewed by clicking the image on the right.
Phoenix Energy Services, AT&T's contractor, will be placing door hangers on all impacted properties.
Once construction is finished, AT&T will restore lawns in spring 2019 where digging has occurred. Residents are then encouraged to water the impacted areas following the grass repairs.
AT&T has indicated its underground equipment will be updated throughout the City, but the company has applied for only one construction permit as of fall 2018.
Residents who have questions regarding the construction should contact AT&T directly.
The City will update the website as information is made available from AT&T. Residents can subscribe to receive project updates from our Pardon The Progress construction blog.
