Public Art Projects
Instrumental in expanding Geneva's Public Art collection, the Commission and the Public Art Advisory Committee have facilitated the installation of three sculptural bike racks in downtown Geneva. Through the Bike + Rack = Art functional sculptures program, selected designs have been purchased and installed.
Through Gimme Shelter, A Bus Shelter Art Program, the Commission has installed seven PACE bus shelters with original artwork from Geneva students in D304. If you find yourself on Randall Road in Geneva, you may come across one of these beautified shelters. The four installations pictured above were designed by students from the Geneva Middle Schools and GHS.
Since 2013, the Commission and the City have worked together to promote Art on Fire, a contest which encourages volunteers to paint fire hydrants with unique designs each year. Check out the City's interactive map of the painted fire hydrants. Register with the City to paint your own in early spring.
