Starting in March, a City contractor will begin repairing equipment at Well No. 10 located near the corner of Westhaven Circle and Heartland Drive on Geneva’s west side. Water quality in the area will not be impacted by the work since the well pumps water to the City’s Water Treatment Plant for processing.
Municipal Well & Pump crews will be on-site a majority of the week from March 2-6 to remove the well’s pump and motor. Once pulled, the equipment will be sent out for evaluation to see if it can be rebuilt or need to be replaced. After that determination is made, the pump and motor will need to be installed back into the well later this spring.
All streets and sidewalks will remain open during the project. Typical construction hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Geneva’s Public Works Department is not anticipating any extreme construction noise being generated during the operation.
