Kane County Coronavirus Relief Fund
Small Business Grant Program Flyer
On Aug. 25 Kane County Board members authorized grant programs to distribute $10 million of its Coronavirus Relief Fund to help small businesses and non-profit organizations with COVID-19 related expenses. Grants up to $10,000 and $20,000 will be awarded to small businesses for eligible costs incurred March 1 to Dec. 30, 2020. Eligible businesses must have no more than 50 full-time employees and gross revenue of no more than $2.5 million for 2019. Owners of multiple businesses may only submit one application. Reimbursable expenses include rent/mortgage, utilities, PPE, cleaning/disinfecting, minor physical modifications, and remote working materials. The application portal is available on the Kane County website. The application deadline is Oct. 2, 2020. Questions about the Relief Fund should be directed to CRF@co.kane.il.us.

State of Illinois Coronavirus Response for Business IDCEO’s Business Interruption Grant Application

The State has created programs to assist small businesses and the hospitality industry. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s (DCEO) COVID-19 Emergency Resources for Businesses provides quick summaries and links to federal, state and other assistance programs for small, midsize and large businesses. Through the Business Interruption Grant (BIG) program, DCEO will issue grants to businesses for operating costs incurred during periods of limited capacity or closure. On Sept. 17 the DCEO will begin to accept applications for the second round of the BIG program. The grant size will be equivalent to two months of expenses. While priority areas are part of the program, BIG is open to all eligible businesses with $20 million or less in annual revenue in 2019.

Lowe's-LISC Partnership Emergency Grant Application

Through a partnership with Lowe's, LISC will provide $55 million in emergency grant assistance to small business owners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance will focus on small businesses owned or led by minorities and women and enterprises in rural communities. Grants of $20,000 will be awarded for eligible expenses.

The Illinois Department of Revenue has established a website with resources to provide information and resources to help Illinois taxpayers, businesses, and others affected by the coronavirus. Several programs are of interest to businesses including payment and penalty deferrals.

US Small Business Association’s:

The Small Business Administration (SBA) is receiving updated information daily regarding the response from federal and state agencies to address the impact of COVID-19 on businesses. SBA is currently accepting new Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) applications from all qualified small businesses. SBA has opened a Virtual Disaster Loan Outreach Center with customer support representatives to assist applicants with completing applications.
