Ridge Lane Drainage Project

Ridge Lane Drainage Project 1 Opens in new window

Project Overview

A City contractor will be conducting a stormwater drainage improvement project for several homes along Ridge Lane on Geneva's east side.

Work will primarily be taking place in the alley behind homes located at 25 to 49 Ridge Lane. Stark and Son Trenching will begin construction staging Tuesday, Sept. 22 with operations getting underway the following day. The project duration should be about one month, weather permitting.

The improvement is being done to prevent or reduce ponding in residential backyards after significant rainfalls. The City will be bringing a 6-inch drain pipe to each property line for the homeowners to tie into. This work will be done at no cost to the residents. If people are interested in extending this pipe beyond their property line, they can personally negotiate a price with the contractor.

The alley will be regraded and paved following the installation.

The disruption from construction should be minimal, but residents can expect to see trucks turning in and out of the alley highlighted in the map (click the map to view a larger version.)

Updates

The City will be providing weekly updates to area homeowners regarding construction progress. Check back for the latest information.
