Geneva Farms North

The applicant is requesting Annexation, Preliminary/Final PUD, Preliminary/Final Plat of Subdivision, Site Plan Review, and Zoning Map Amendment upon annexation from the “RR” Rural Residential District to the “I1” Light Industrial District for the development of a 278,000 square foot distribution facility. In conjuncture with the proposed development, the applicant will also extend Geneva Drive to North Kirk Road at a newly signalized intersection.
The Planning & Zoning Commission held a public hearing for the requests at its Sept. 9 and Sept. 23 meetings. The Commission closed the public hearing Sept. 23 and recommended approving the Zoning Map Amendment upon annexation. However, the Commission recommended denial of the requested Preliminary/Final Planned Unit Development and Preliminary/Final Plat of Subdivision.
City Council held a public hearing Oct. 18 strictly pertaining to the proposed annexation agreement that was associated with the petitioner’s other requests. The City Council unanimously voted to deny the proposed annexation agreement and the overall project as proposed.
