The East State Street Tax Increment Financing (TIF) District encompasses twenty four acres just a half mile east of Geneva's historic downtown. The Redevelopment Project and Plan provides details on the goals and objectives of the Plan and the boundaries of the Project Area.
Since the TIF district's establishment in 2000, the equalized assessed value of the Project Area has significantly increased and more than 60,000 square feet of new commercial construction has been completed, including Aldi Supermarket, Munchie P's, Dairy Queen, Valley Animal Hospital, CVS Pharmacy, and Riganato Old World Grille. The City is presently working with the State of Illinois on roadway and streetscape improvements designed to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety and to improve the appearance of the corridor.
Financial incentives are available to developers and businesses seeking to invest and operate. For more information please contact Cathleen Tymoszenko.
