The City of Geneva operates separate sewer systems.
 
The storm sewer system provides the infrastructure necessary for the control of precipitation and sump pump discharge to the Fox River, Mill Creek and Geneva Creek.
 
The sanitary sewer system provides the infrastructure necessary for transporting sewage from all customer classes to the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant.
 
The property owner is responsible for the lateral sewer (service), including all fixtures, pipes, tile, wye fittings and appurtenances servicing an owner’s property to a point where such sanitary lateral sewer connects to a sanitary interceptor sewer, even though such sanitary lateral sewer may be located upon or under publicly-owned property on a dedicated street or alley.
