A melted fuse caused a power outage around 4:50 p.m. Sept. 20 in a portion of downtown Geneva.
About 79 customers were impacted along South Second Street, Franklin Street, Campbell Street, Fulton Street, South First Street, River Lane and Island Park. Public Works crews refused the line and restored service at 6:30 p.m.
As a reminder, residents who experience a power outage after-hours should report the incident to the Geneva Police Department non-emergency number at 630-232-4736. The front desk will then dispatch the on-call Public Works Electric Division personnel to respond to the problem. The City's online "Report A Concern" system and social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
