Powering Up

Power Restored
Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on the our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

[ARCHIVED] AT&T Underground Conduit Installation Finished; Landscape Restoration Ahead

The original item was published from May 29, 2019 4:40 PM to April 15, 2020 10:38 AM

AT&T has finished installing new underground conduit to replace outdated cable television, Internet and phone service equipment on Geneva's west side.

Work included boring through the easements, which are typically a strip of land running along the street, sidewalk, rear lot line or between two lots. The project started in December along Peck Road from Keslinger to Bricher roads.

Now that construction has been completed, the next phase is landscape restoration. That work will begin this spring but is weather dependent.

AT&T informed the City the company does not have any additional infrastructure projects taking place in Geneva for the foreseeable future.

For more information, visit the project web page on the City's website. An AT&T project representative's contact information is listed on page for residents to call or email directly with questions.
