Powering Up

Power Restored
Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

The original item was published from September 20, 2019 11:10 AM to August 1, 2020 12:00 AM

Embrace fall and the seasons changing in downtown Geneva as you shop, sip and explore during the inaugural Autumn Fest Geneva coordinated by Geneva merchants on Oct. 4-6, 2019.

Autumn Fest 1

Kick-off the Autumn Fest Geneva weekend with the Jack-O‘-Lantern Walk, a self-guided tour from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4. As part of Geneva’s monthly First Friday’s local merchant shopping event, participating businesses will display a festive, carved jack-o’-lantern outside their storefronts or in their windows, visible for shoppers to see as they explore the self-guided tour. Many merchants will reveal new fall merchandise with exclusive, in-store specials during this event. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote on the "most creative" and "most spooky" pumpkins. Participants may cast their votes by tagging a photo on Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #AutumnFestGeneva.

Autumn Fest 3

People can join in on more fun on from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Autumn Fest Geneva Drink Crawl. You must pre-register for this event on EventBrite
Autumn Fest Geneva Drink Crawl. The first stop of the crawl will be at noon, either at Scentcerely Yours or Strawflower Shop, to collect a map of the designated crawl stops (self-guided), drink tickets, ceramic Autumn Fest Geneva Crawl mugs and exclusive Autumn Fest Geneva mini candle from Scentcerely Yours. Participants will then tour more than 15 stores as they enjoy 2 oz. sample size, fall-themed beverages (hot or cold). Non-alcoholic options will be available. Proceeds from the crawl will benefit the Geneva Beautification Committee's mission to help keep Geneva’s historic downtown beautiful.

Autumn Fest 2

Autumn Fest Geneva wraps up from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6 with a Pet Costume Contest at Cafe & Barr, coordinated by Bruce & Willy’s Natural Pet SourceCafe & Barr, Harvey's Tales and Tiny N Tall Rescue. The event, featuring prizes for best costumes, goodie bags and raffle baskets, will benefit Tiny N Tall Rescue and Answers Pet Food.
