The City will be repairing three sections of sanitary sewer on South Street near the Geneva Public Works Department, 1800 South St.
Starting weekdays from Thursday, Nov. 14 to Monday, Nov. 18, traffic will be reduced to one lane from Southampton Drive to Sheila Lane to accommodate the construction. The roadway will be reopened each night (and throughout the weekend) before construction resumes the following day. Performance Construction & Engineering, the City's contractor, will be conducting the repair project.
The goal is to complete one repair project a day, weather permitting.
South Street Culvert Crossing
The South Street culvert crossing, located near Southampton Drive, will remain closed during the sanitary sewer projects.
The City is anticipating opening all lanes and the bridge deck on South Street Tuesday, Nov. 19, construction and weather permitting. While the project will be substantially
completed, road striping and other ancillary work will still need to
South Street between Burgess Road and Southampton Drive has been closed since Aug. 9 for safety reasons after a sinkhole was discovered by the City. Engineering work took place during September, and demolition began Oct. 17 followed by construction of the new deck.
