About 909 customers living in the Williamsburg and Pepper Valley subdivisions on Geneva's west side lost power after a car accident occurred at 9:37 a.m. March 13.
A car struck electric equipment at the corner of State Street (Route 38) and Williamsburg Avenue. The Geneva Police, Fire and Public Works departments all responded to the scene.
Electric Division crews were able to re-route power and restored service for about 84% of the impacted customers between 36 to 53 minutes. Electric service for the remaining residents was back online by 11:15 a.m. March 13.
The replacement of damaged electric components stemming from the accident is underway and may not be finished until this weekend.
