Construction is scheduled to start Monday, July 6 to replace 300 feet of sanitary sewer on West State Street (Route 38) in downtown Geneva.
Work operations on the City project will be done overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights on the outside westbound lane of State Street from First Street (Route 31) to River Lane. Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane overnight and reopened during the day. Some pavement restoration will be done during daytime hours.
Parking will be prohibited on the north side of State Street between First Street and River Lane. The project is being done overnight - and at the same time as IDOT's State Street bridge resurfacing
- to minimize the inconvenience for motorists and local businesses. The City's sanitary sewer installation is expected to last 10 days, weather permitting.
The City's Public Works Department Engineering Division staff will be on site during construction, which will be performed by the LUC Group. For more information, call the City's Public Works Department Water Division at 630-232-1551.
