The Illinois Department of Transportation announced the following operations will take place the week of July 13 with the State Street (Route 38) bridge resurfacing project:
- Clean off the bridge deck and place the overlay surface. This work was originally scheduled for the final week of June, but high temperatures and rain/threat of rain the past two weeks have not led to prime weather conditions.
Background & More Info
Two lanes of traffic, one in each direction, will remain open throughout
construction of the bridge that spans the Fox River in downtown Geneva.
The project will be done in two phases with work starting in the
outside lanes and then later shifting to the interior lanes.
Work began in late May and is anticipated to be completed in August, weather permitting.
