Power Outage
The Geneva Public Works Department responded to two power outages during early July on both sides of the City.

On July 6, about 66 Geneva customers lost power at 8:45 p.m. July 6. The outage area included the 100-200 block of Woodward Avenue; 400, 500 and 800 blocks North Bennett Street; 100-200 blocks of Division Street; and homes located on Third to Fifth Avenues.

The service disruption was caused by a broken cutout (a combination of a fuse & switch), which was replaced by City electric crews. Power was restored at 10 p.m. July 6.

On July 2, about 23 Geneva customers lost power at 7:45 p.m. in the 0-100 blocks of Anderson Boulevard and McKinley Avenue as well as the 900 block of West State Street. The exact cause of the outage was not determined, but crews were able to refuse the cutout to bring all customers back online by 9:05 p.m. July 2.
