Power Outage
An underground cable failure triggered a power outage at 8:58 p.m. July 25 that impacted 887 customers on Geneva's east side.

Residents living on Westfield Course, Britta Lane, Averill Circle, Greenmeadow Lane, Nichole Lane, Chandler Avenue, Manchester Course and Kirkwood Drive lost service.

Geneva's Public Works Department was able to restore service to 97% of the customers within 34 minutes by switching power to another circuit. The remaining 27 customers were brought back online by 9:56 p.m.

As a reminder, the best way to report power outages to the City after-hours or on weekends is by calling the Geneva Police Department's non-emergency number at 630-232-4736. Police will dispatch Public Works personnel to address the problem. The City's online request tracker and social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
