Sept. 4
A defective underground cable caused a power outage at 7:18 a.m. Sept. 4 that impacted 900 customers on Geneva's east side between East Side Drive, Division Street, State Street and Kirk Road.
Geneva's Public Works Department isolated the defective cable and later took it out of service. More than 91% of the customers had power restored by 7:39 p.m. The remaining 77 customers were brought back online between 7:58 and 8:15 a.m.
Sept. 3
A large tree branch caught on fire after making contact with an electric wire at 3:50 p.m. Sept. 3. The incident caused a power outage for 17 customers living in the 500 blocks of West and Willow lanes.
The City's Public Works crews removed the tree limb and restored service by 4:50 p.m.
