Powering Up

Power Restored
Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on the our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

The original item was published from October 8, 2020 3:09 PM to February 1, 2021 12:00 AM

Geneva's 2020 sidewalk and curb maintenance program is scheduled to start throughout the City Wednesday, Oct. 12.

The City's contractor will begin sawcutting sidewalk segments that are scheduled to be replaced. New concrete will be poured on Friday, Oct. 14 and will need seven days to cure. The schedule is weather dependent.

Notices have been sent to impacted residents who are having sidewalks sections replaced near their home or over their driveway. Those notices and a construction map can be found on the sidewalk and curb maintenance program web page.
