About 2,110 Geneva customers lost power at 6:29 p.m. Oct. 26 after ComEd's feed dropped to the City's Peyton Street substation.
Impacted customers were in the downtown and the City's west side north of State Street. The City's Public Works Department crews were able to switch customers to another substation and service was fully restored by 6:56 p.m. Oct. 26.
As a reminder, residents should call the Geneva Police Department's non-emergency phone number at 630-232-4736 to report power outages taking place after-hours and on the weekends. Police will dispatch the on-call Public Works Electric Division staff to respond to matter.
As an FYI, the City's online request tracker and social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
