Powering Up

Power Restored
Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and Geneva has you covered with great ways to make it a special weekend.

If you are looking for something festive to do, 40 downtown businesses are hosting "Follow Your Heart" Pal and Galentine's Weekend, a ticketed event Friday to Sunday, Feb. 12-14. Your $15 ticket, available through eventbrite, includes an Experience Geneva, IL tote bag filled with weekend offers from participating restaurants and shops. Every time you make a purchase from a participating business, you will get a sticker on a bingo card and a chance to win a raffle valued at $400.

For details, visit the Experience Geneva, IL Facebook page. Registration closes on Sunday, Feb. 7. Attendees are reminded to wear a mask, wash your hands, and socially distance when in public areas.

Valentine's Day is a perfect time to relax and treat yourself to a meal prepared by one of Geneva's amazing restaurants. Check social media to find out if your favorite dining locale has any Valentine's Day packages or special menu items. For instance, Osteria Bigolaro and Niche are offering dinner for two packages with a three-course meal. Pre-orders are usually needed for these elaborate feasts, but you can also take the night off with carry out or delivery straight from the menus of many mouthwatering establishments.
