Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and Geneva has you covered with great ways to make it a special weekend.
If you are looking for something festive to do, 40 downtown businesses are hosting "Follow Your Heart" Pal and Galentine's Weekend, a ticketed event Friday to Sunday, Feb. 12-14. Your $15 ticket, available through
eventbrite, includes an Experience Geneva, IL tote bag filled with weekend offers from participating restaurants and shops. Every time you make a purchase from a participating business, you will get a sticker on a bingo card and a chance to win a raffle valued at $400.
For details, visit the
Experience Geneva, IL Facebook page. Registration closes on Sunday, Feb. 7. Attendees are reminded to wear a mask, wash your hands, and socially distance when in public areas.
Valentine's Day is a perfect time to relax and treat yourself to a meal prepared by one of Geneva's amazing restaurants. Check social media to find out if your favorite dining locale has any Valentine's Day packages or special menu items. For instance,
Osteria Bigolaro and
Niche are offering dinner for two packages with a three-course meal. Pre-orders are usually needed for these elaborate feasts, but you can also take the night off with carry out or delivery straight from the menus of many mouthwatering establishments. (Photo:

Treats are an order this time of year, and Geneva is bursting with choices. Chocolate fondue kits are available at
Graham's Chocolates as well as their famous chocolate covered strawberries. Order now for pick-up on Valentine's Day weekend.
Pick up "Date Night" and "Love" popcorn kernels, which pop into supersized popcorn, from
The Little Traveler for a cozy movie theater experience at home. They also sell a variety of toppings to go with it. The store is closed for in-person shopping, but you can shop online or by phone.
Support one of Geneva's independent bakeries by ordering a treat for your family or friends for Valentine's weekend.
Sugar Path will ship cake jars and cookies across America and has Saturday delivery to make it easier to stay connected. There is no looking back once you check out their
Valentine's Day menu.
Nothing feels more right than snail mailing a pretty card to a loved one to arrive by Valentine's Day. Let's face it, this is a perfect time to do it.
The Paper Merchant has a beautiful selection of high quality cards for the holiday.
A thoughtful gift that will bring some cheer on a cold winter day is a new plant in a whimsical pot from
Grow Geneva. A beautiful accent for a room that has the added benefit of cleaner air in your loved one's home.
Wet Nose at Geneva Commons has Valentine's themed dog treats for your furry sweetheart and adorable plush conversation heart toys. The
latest newsletter from Geneva Commons offers some nice discounts on winter pick-me ups, including
free coffee through Wednesday, March 31 at Corner Bakery.

Through the
Show Your Love For Local Shops program, the
Geneva Chamber of Commerce has given you another reason to support Geneva shops next month. If you spend at least $100 at its member retail shops, you can receive $15 in gift certificates to be spent anytime. The receipts must be dated from Feb. 1-14, and the gift certificates must be redeemed at the Chamber by Friday, Feb. 19.
We hope you will visit Geneva in February to show your love of our small businesses. They will love you back by helping you find a new outfit to brighten your winter, a thoughtful gift for your Valentine, or a well prepared meal or special treat to bring joy to your household.
