Powering Up

Power Restored
Geneva owns and operates its own electric utility, and we take great pride in providing reliable electric service to our residents and businesses. However, like all utilities, we are susceptible to outages caused by bad weather, animals, equipment issues and more. This blog is designed to provide updates on what caused outages after service has been restored. Large-scale incidents will be posted in real-time on the City's Alert Center on our website homepage. Customers can subscribe to receive these updates via Notify Me.

[ARCHIVED] Win Prizes For Shopping In Geneva This Holiday Season

The original item was published from November 23, 2021 2:45 PM to September 1, 2022 12:00 AM

Geneva's independent shops are a perfect place to find one-of-a-kind holiday gifts. This year, you have the added bonus of a chance to win prizes when you snap a selfie while you are here.

From now until Friday, Dec. 24, when you post a photo of yourself shopping in downtown Geneva on Instagram and use the #shoplocalgenevail2021 hashtag and tag @shoplocalGenevaIL, you will be automatically entered into a weekly drawing for prizes from various Geneva shops. The more you shop and post, the more entries you get. At the end of the contest, one grand prize gift basket will be awarded.

We hope to see you this weekend during Small Business Saturday, Nov. 27, when the shopping season takes off with a blast. By the way, many downtown merchants will stay open until 7 p.m. on Fridays from Nov. 26 to Dec. 17. Best of luck with the contest and Happy Holidays!
