A tree knocked down by strong winds fell into power lines early Dec. 16 on Geneva's east side.
The damage resulted in a loss of electric service for nine customers living in the 500 and 600 blocks of Austin Avenue and Dodson Street. Geneva Public Works crews removed the tree from the lines and temporarily fixed service to residents by 5:30 a.m.
The National Weather Service had issued a high wind warning for much of northern Illinois that featured winds gusting more than 60 mph overnight.
