A faulty electrical switch caused a power outage on Geneva's west side March 28.
About 663 customers lost service at 3:40 p.m.
Geneva Public Works Electric Division crews isolated the bad electrical switch and re-energized the circuit. More than 90% of the impacted customers had service restored by 4:40 p.m. The remaining 61 customers were brought back online by 5:25 p.m.
As a reminder, the Public Works Department's regular business hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. If an outage occurs after-hours, on weekends or holidays, residents can call the Geneva Police Department's non-emergency number at 630-232-4736, and police will dispatch the appropriate on-call Electric Division personnel.
