Original Post - July 28

An AT&T contractor is scheduled to be installing new fiber optic cable underground in early August along Third Street in downtown Geneva.

Work will be taking place from Monday to Thursday, Aug. 1-4 on the east side of Third Street from Campbell Street extending south past Fulton Street. The sidewalk and roadway will remain open, but several parking spaces may be temporarily closed for equipment.

The project, which will involve boring and produce other ancillary noise, is expected to be wrapped up in advance of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce's Thursday night Classic Car Show Aug. 4.

The contractor, PirTano, notified impacted business owners with a letter July 25. The schedule is weather dependent and subject to change.
