Eleven customers lost power due to a squirrel coming in contact with an electric line July 27 on the City's west side.
The outage occurred at 8:19 p.m. and impacted customers living on South Batavia Avenue (Route 31), Garden Avenue, Meadows Road and Dunstan Road.
Geneva Public Works crews refused the transformer, and service was restored to customers between 9:13 and 9:33 p.m.
As a reminder, the Public Works Department's regular business hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. If an outage occurs after-hours, on weekends or holidays, residents can call the Geneva Police Department's non-emergency number at 630-232-4736, and police will dispatch the appropriate on-call Electric Division personnel.
The City's online request tracker system and social media accounts are not monitored 24 hours a day.
