MetroNet is expected to start constructing its fiber optic network in the coming days for the Williamsburg, Blackberry and Stonebridge subdivisions on Geneva's west side after the City approved a construction permit Oct. 31.
The permit boundary area (GEO20) is roughly bounded by Bricher Road, State Street (Route 38), Williamsburg Avenue and Randall Road.
Residents in these subdivisions should have received three notifications from MetroNet prior to construction. The company will be installing the fiber in utility easements, which are typically strip of land running along the street, sidewalk, rear lot line or between two lots.
Construction permits are pending review for Pepper Valley and the northern half of the Fisher Farms subdivisions.

The City also has created a MetroNet
construction page with additional background.
