A Christmas Eve snowstorm caused a car to crash into two electric boxes resulting in a power outage impacting 32 customers on Geneva's west side.
The accident occurred around 10:20 a.m. Dec. 24 and knocked out power to residents living on Randall Court, Kaneville Road and Ginger Lane. Twenty-two customers were without power for 25 minutes after Geneva Public Works crews switched out the electrical boxes and restored service.
The other 10 customers experienced partial power failures that were rectified at 1:40 p.m. for seven homes and 4:14 p.m. for the remaining three residences.
