Saturday, April 21 is the perfect day to check out the art scene in Geneva during the Fox River Arts Ramble. Eight Geneva sites will be open to the public with artists, artwork, and performances, including a free art show featuring twelve Geneva artists.
The Greater Geneva Art Guild (GGAG) of the Cultural Arts Commission is gathering a group of artists together to showcase and sell their work in the downtown. Stop by the American Legion Post 75 to check out local original art and demonstrations. The GGAG show will include watercolors, oils, acrylics, stained glass, ink, colored pencil and jewelry. Live music and refreshments will add to the fun of watching our artists do what they do best.
The artists participating in the Art Guild event include: Chris Pappas, Steven Bell, Lorraine Ochsner, Al Ochsner, Karen Smith, Lynette Dubovik, Marge Hall, Kathi Kuchler, Barbara Mueller, Nancy McGuire, Wendy Tupy and Dan Covarrubias.

Another interesting Ramble stop in Geneva is at Beech Tree Studio, which is now offering colored pencil and drawing classes at Chilled Palette at 500 South Third St, Suite 117. Beech Tree Studio will host colored pencil artists throughout the day and prints will be for sale. Artists will share with visitors the process of the colored pencil medium and the amazing results that can be achieved. Canvas painting classes will be taking place at Chilled Palette at this time. Stop in to check things out. Who knows, maybe you will want to sign up for an art class!

The Fox River Arts Ramble, a project of
Fox River Arts, is a self-guided tour of over forty stops in Aurora, Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, and Elgin. It is truly amazing how many places throughout the area will be ready for visitors that day. Whether you are an art collector or a parent looking for a family friendly outing, the Ramble is such a fabulous way to get to know art in the Valley.
