An underground contractor accidentally struck cable causing a power outage for 24 customers April 12 in the Lincoln Square subdivision on Geneva's west side.
The outage occurred after the contractor dug into primary cable without locates around 8:35 a.m. Service was lost in the 2500 and 2600 blocks of Camden Street. Public Works crews isolated the damaged section of bad cable and were able to restore service by 9:55 a.m.
