A section of northbound Route 25 in Geneva will be reduced to one lane the week of Aug. 30 due to a sanitary sewer project.
ABC Plumbing started installing replacement sanitary sewer service from the easterly right-of-way to the City's sanitary main along the center of Route 25 in between Spring and Chalmers streets. The service connection was finished Sept. 1, but roadway repairs are expected to continue into Friday, Sept. 3.
Construction has resulted in northbound lane closures, but southbound traffic was not expected to be impacted. Work was originally anticipated to be finished Aug. 31, but additional time is needed to complete the project.
IDOT traffic control procedures will be in place. Motorists driving through the work zone are urged to use caution.
