Update - Sept. 8

The City's contractor will return Thursday, Sept. 9 to continue installing water service lines that will once again require traffic to be reduced to one lane on Kaneville Road south of State Street.

The Geneva Public Works Department will be overseeing the installation of new water services Friday, Sept. 3 and Tuesday, Sept. 7 that will reduce a segment of Kaneville Road traffic to one lane.

Flaggers will be directing drivers on Kaneville Road from State Street (Route 38) to Country Club Place. Operations will begin at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 3, and crews will work throughout the day to install the new water infrastructure and discontinue service to an old water main.

Work should be completed prior to the evening rush hour Sept. 3, and all lanes of traffic will remain open throughout the Labor Day weekend. Construction is scheduled to resume at 7:30 a.m. Sept. 7 and hopefully will be finished later that day, weather permitting.

Motorists may want to find alternate routes due to expected traffic delays. Drivers are urged to use caution if they plan on traveling through the work zone.
