The Geneva flag at City Hall has been lowered to half-staff in memory of former Alderman Thomas Aschom, 89, who died Sept. 23.
Mr. Aschom was a 58-year resident of Geneva and served two terms as Fifth Ward alderman from 1969 to 1977. He and his wife Polly loved living on the Fox River, moving from one house to another on South River Lane and then a condo on North River Lane.
Mr. Aschom served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War before moving to Illinois. Outside of work, he served as a deacon at the Fox Valley Presbyterian Church of Geneva and president of the Geneva Golf Club. A full obituary can be found online.
The City of Geneva extends its condolences to the Aschom family and friends for their loss.
